Shaping Generations

Through Excellence in Education

Founded on January 23, 1961, by the Catholic Mission under Rev. Father Camilo Olivani, Kolenten Secondary School stands as a beacon of education and moral development in Kambia District, Sierra Leone. Named after the Kolenten River (Great Scarcies), the school has, for over six decades, remained dedicated to nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.
As a government-assisted, public, and non-profit institution, Kolenten operates under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary School Education (MBSSE). The school provides a holistic and inclusive education that empowers both girls and boys to achieve academic success and personal growth.
Our committed teachers and staff create an environment that emphasizes discipline, creativity, and excellence. Through a well-balanced curriculum, students are inspired to develop critical thinking, leadership, and lifelong learning skills, preparing them for higher education and meaningful careers.
Kolenten Secondary School continues to advance its mission of expanding access to quality education, with a strong focus on equal opportunities for young women and men. At Kolenten, education goes beyond academics—it builds character, confidence, and a sense of purpose that lasts a lifetime.
